“Since my childhood, I have been interested in craftwork and so I picked up my interest and carried on with the temple craftwork”
The tiny umbrella is one of 25 spiritual items I have made, including other spiritual items, golu items, etc.
Products and Designs:
On request, I can design the temple arts based on the characters I get from the customers.
Mostly, the customers would like products such as small umbrellas for the Navaratri and Prathosam periods.
“I single person handedly do the craftwork. I like to engage with people who have similar interest towards my work, “says Prasanna.
All the handmade Temple Products are very rich in value and you can make use of the products throughout your life.
Time will be consumed based on the order. It may take 2 to 3 days to make out the normal products, whereas the umbrella products would take 4 to 5 days.

The Maximum Price ranges between Rs. 7000 to 1000 and the Starting Price will be at Rs. 4,000 to 8000 for the Umbrella Products.
Apart from Tamil Nadu, I get most of the orders from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
I send out all the products through Courier Service and the customers will receive the parcel via logistics after paying the courier amount. They can place orders to purchase the products.
Covid challenges and Developmental Ideas:
During the 2nd wave, especially in May and June, there was no business at all. All the temples were closed and so I had no chance of a sale. I get customers from Instagram and WhatsApp too.
“I will get orders and get the half amount in advance. Once I finish the requirement, I will send the image of the product and they will pay the full amount and receive the parcel. I registered for GST in March and have plans for further developments. “
