“Dreaming is just half the work. Execution is what brings in completion” Who doesn’t want to make it big in life? Each one of us has a goal in life that we would love to achieve. We base our happiness and sense of worth on those goals. But more often than not, we find it difficult to reach the goals. People get confused and demotivated instead of asking themselves why. How should you choose your goals? What should you do to achieve them? The answer unfolds as below
- Set a clear purpose behind your goal
A goal without a purpose is not a goal at all. Always set clear and logical purpose behind your goals. This would keep reminding you of your why every time you feel demotivated and feel like giving up
- Keep your goals in your line of sight
It greatly helps when you have a visual reminder of the goal everywhere you go. It not just keeps you on your toes but also propels you faster towards your destination. Always write your goals on anything that you use daily so that you stay connected to it
- Get an Accountability system or Partner
It is easy to promise goals to yourself and then forget about them like they never happened. However, when you share your goals with a person or a community, you automatically become accountable to them. This will keep you on track and help you work towards your goals
- Keep measurable goals
This is where the majority of us go wrong. We often dream so big that we don’t realise that we need to start small to achieve big. Break down your end goal into small steps and strive to achieve one step at a time
- Find a Goal that you connect to
The dreaming stage of every goal seems extremely simple. However, the way to achieving the goal can be ridden with a lot of pain and heartache. It is, therefore, necessary to find a goal that speaks to you; A goal that gives you a sense of purpose and satisfaction. It would give you the commitment, persistence and hard work required to achieve anything.
Overall, the most important thing is to be mentally prepared, to face whatever opposition or challenges may come your way, and to be committed to finding a solution and staying on course
