When we talk about humanity, there can be various perspectives to look at it. The most straightforward way to understand humanity is this simple definition – everything that makes you human can be considered a part of humanity. This can be love, hope, faith, fear, and much more. All these attributes are a part of humanity because you experience them regularly while living your life.
The Pride of Humanity awards 2021 initiated by Take Care International Foundation are being held in the hope to recognize outstanding humanitarian services and positive actions by individuals. The Pride of Humanity award recognizes the world’s most influential and accomplished humanitarian workers from all walks of life.
Mr. Arun Kumar who heads No Food Waste Initiative – Chennai chapter since 2018 is one such humanitarian worker who works in helping society in the time of need is to be respected. Being a B.tech graduate and holding the position of NSS coordinator for over 3 years during his college days set in him a desire to dedicate his time to work for the betterment of society.
Now operating with over 150 volunteers in helping around with the organization ideas, No Food Waste primarily works by collecting leftover food from big corporations which they later pack and donate to those in need, by doing so they are also helping in reduction of dumping of waste and pollution. Food waste safety department sponsored four vehicle The organization serves about 50 orphanages, countless old age homes, government hospitals, and those found wandering for food on the roadside. Even though the world was struck with a deadly pandemic, it did not stop ‘No Food Waste Chennai’ organization to stop from stopping their work, since the organization has tied up with Chennai corporation to carry out their works without hindrances which led them to work without having to drop their work. No Food Waste aims to work towards their goal of ‘hunger less Chennai, hunger less land’, and every day they work hard to provide food for those who are less fortunate to have so on their own.
Pride of Humanity being an initiative to acknowledge humanitarian workers, your contribution towards the wellbeing of society was nothing less than a moment of appreciation. We hope nothing but the best for your future endeavors and hope that this award stands as a stepping stone for you to continue in this path of kindness and giving and always lead as a humanitarian worker.
