The 66-Year-Old Visionary Empowering India’s Seniors Through Innovation

In a world that often sidelines the elderly, one woman is rewriting the story of ageing in India.
Meet Meenakshi Menon, a 66-year-old serial entrepreneur and visionary behind GenS Life, a tech-enabled platform designed to support the physical, mental, emotional, financial, and social well-being of India’s 60+ generation.

For Menon, the journey began with a simple moment of realization.
“I walked into a store to buy an iPhone, and the salesman insisted an Android would be easier for someone like me,” she recalls. “That’s when I realised society starts seeing you differently after 60.”

That moment sparked a movement.

Turning Ageing into Empowerment

Born and raised in Mumbai, Meenakshi built an illustrious career in advertising and media, leading teams at Lintas and Zee, and founding India’s first independent media planning firm, Carat.
In 2003, she launched Spatial Access, a media and marketing audit consultancy later acquired by Deloitte in 2020.

But after decades of success in corporate India, Meenakshi’s heart called her toward something deeper, a mission with purpose.
She envisioned a platform where ageing was celebrated, not feared. Where seniors weren’t seen as dependents, but as contributors, creators, and connectors.

That vision became GenS Life, launched in 2024.

Creating a Community for the Golden Generation

GenS Life is more than a digital app; it’s a movement of care, connection, and courage.
Built on a membership model starting at just ₹990 a year, it offers a full ecosystem of services to help seniors live healthier, happier, and more independent lives.

From daily yoga sessions to doctor consultations, memory care, financial planning, and even travel experiences tailored for seniors, GenS Life ensures that every stage of life remains vibrant and meaningful.

Members can access health check-ups, ride-booking assistance, will and inheritance planning, and emergency safety tools like an SOS alert system.
In partnership with organisations like Anvayaa, Helpee, and Metropolis Labs, the platform also offers exclusive benefits and discounts for seniors and their families.

“It’s about making seniors relevant again,” Meenakshi explains. “When a 70-year-old shares a discount code with her family, she feels valued, useful, and proud.”

Technology with Compassion

In a society where loneliness is an increasing concern for the elderly, GenS Life offers Virtual Adda sessions, comedy nights, and wellness talks to bring people together.
Available in 12 languages, the app makes sure no senior is left behind, regardless of background or tech comfort.

By addressing the needs of both seniors and their families, Menon is not just solving a problem, she’s building a new cultural mindset: one that celebrates the power, wisdom, and relevance of India’s ageing community.
